Position Title: Junior Software Engineer
Location: Hybrid in Huntsville, AL
Status: Full-time; Exempt
Position Description:
As a Junior Software Engineer, you will
- Develop, test, and produce AI/ML applications for federal entities.
- Communicate with leadership and the customer to ensure a common understanding of requirements and assist in further development of these requirements.
- Document your work for the benefit of your teammates, the user, leadership, and posterity, and develop software user manuals and technical reports.
- Design, develop, test, and verify complex software applications involving graphical front-end interfaces, visualization toolsets, database interfaces, and multi-user GUI interfaces.
- Identify and solve challenging problems by writing performant, clean, and practical code.
- Perform software analysis, code analysis, requirements analysis, software reviews, software risk analysis, and software reliability analysis.
- Create new and novel analytical solutions for customers.
- Research advancements in computer science and related fields to help steer the organization toward
- long term success.
- Educate teammates in software development procedures.
Required Qualifications:
- A minimum of a bachelor's degree in a STEM or STEM-related field.
- 1-3 years of experience with the design, development, and testing of software tools.
- Strong familiarity with at least one programming language (Python preferred).
- Ability to analyze a requirement, generate a design, and produce efficient, robust, and testable software.
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication abilities.
- Resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the North Alabama area.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with software development with an AI/ML toolset focus.
- Experience with Generative AI (e.g., Large Language Models (LLMs)).
- Experience with agentic AI methods.
- Experience with statistics and applied machine learning (regression analysis, time series, probabilistic models).
- Experience with Agile software development methodology.
- Experience with Missile Defense Agency or other DoD organizations.
- Experience working with cloud services such as Microsoft Azure.
- Ability to troubleshoot production problems related to the deployment of software applications.

Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Secret Clearance after start date
